The DOSE Method
And why it works!

DOSE Fest is built around four hormones and neurotransmitters that play a key role in how we feel day to day.

They are not magic fixes, and wellbeing is never one-size-fits-all. But these four are a brilliant foundation because they connect directly to motivation, connection, mood, and stress relief.

The best part is that your body already knows how to make them. The festival is designed to help you activate them through experiences that are enjoyable, social, and easy to engage with.

Dopamine

Dopamine is often described as the motivation and reward chemical. It is linked to drive, focus, progress, and that feeling of “yes, I did it”.

It is released when we:

  • achieve something

  • learn something new

  • complete a goal

  • experience something exciting or rewarding such as music.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is known as the bonding and connection hormone. It is linked to trust, safety, belonging, and feeling supported.

It is released through:

  • positive social connection

  • kindness and shared experiences

  • laughter and warmth

  • touch and closeness (even small moments of safe connection)

Serotonin

Serotonin supports mood balance, emotional steadiness, and overall wellbeing. It is closely linked to calm confidence, regulation, and feeling more grounded.

Serotonin is linked to:

  • time outdoors and daylight

  • movement and routine

  • feeling connected to purpose

  • practices that support stability and balance

Endorphins

Endorphins are the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. They help reduce stress and discomfort and are often released through movement and physical activity.

Endorphins are linked to:

  • stress relief

  • energy and resilience

  • releasing tension

  • boosting mood naturally
